Yes. Under the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005 you are required to receive a Certificate of Credit Counseling from an EOUST-approved provider, such as Summit Financial Education, no more than 180 days prior to filing your bankruptcy petition.
